State Route 39 and State Route 42 serve as key corridors and
gateways through Monrovia but are state-owned.
These corridors were identified as critically important corridors to
Monrovia during the development of the Comprehensive Plan adopted
in December 2021.
By establishing a desired vision for these roadways, the Town is better
equipped both to coordinate with INDOT on future roadway or pedestrian
improvements projects and with future developers to ensure appropriate
space is set aside for future improvements.
